ACTION NAME Action Plans relating to DEVELOPMENT Part 1

WHAT/DESCRIPTION:
1. Nurture activities and contacts with organizations involved with work and values relating to our pillars: e.g. Fredskorpset, Bergum Mottak, Rafto.
2. Consolidate projects arising from staff, student and alumni initiatives, relating to our pillars, e.g Volunteer Program, LASKI, DROP, SAFUGE, YAA.
3. Establish a new Visitor's Centre, with an environmental dimension

MEASURABLE GOALS:
1.2 Ongoing scheduled meetings as part of EAC programs – updated on www.eap.no
3. Feasibility study completed ;
4. Regulation approved;
5. Initial Funding secured;
6. Fundraising as part of the UWC 50th anniversary in Norway;
7. Application for funding to UWCIO Establish a unit to recruit users for centre. Infrastructure – the Fjord path completed. Phase 1 with 48 places ready for Leirskule use Phase 2 80 places ready for Leirskule use Hall, completed

TIMEFRAME AND MILESTONES:
1. Visitor Centre Feasibility study completed March 2010.
2. Regulation approved within 2010
3. Fundraising to commence April 2011 from UWC celebrations 2012
4. Application for funding to UWCIO September 2010; notification expected November 2010.
5. Establish recruitment unit for centre by June 2011; the Fjord path by June 2012;
6. First places ready by Leirskule season 2013; 80 places by Leirskule season 2015; Hall opening summer 2015.

To encourage UWC Red Cross Nordic alumni to participate in college initiatives and projects.

STATUS:
Feasibility plan completed slightly behind schedule
Delays with Regulation Plan.
Funding from UWCIO not forthcoming
Longer term Problem with access to the site
A significant delay in milestones 5 and 6 anticipated
Tom Gresvik appointed as a part time volunteer in HIFUS office from August 2010
Frustrations continue with fjord side road to site of Miklagard.
College to seek ownership of the purchased land following a generous offer from T Gresvik.
